Responsible for setting up and running the school’s Gifted and Talented Program, I offered provision within small groups of children culminating in 90 pupils (32% of the total school cohort). Generally 6 able children were chosen from each class and planning was carried out in conjunction with the class teachers to ensure that a challenging curriculum was offered following the Primary Framework. In addition to working with the able children in English and Math, I also ran three after school clubs, which were designed to challenge and enrich their learning experience. My classes were noted as being ‘excellent, full of enthusiasm and passion’ by The Office for Standards in Education.
